FAME started as a fledgling organization within Art Education 5673: Symposium Issues. Taught by Mrs. Gretchen McIntosh, the course was originally structured to debrief the 2014 Barnett Symposium. After a dialogue with students in the course about what they wanted out of their education, McIntosh did away with the syllabus, and restructured the course so her students could take their futures into their own hands by creating an organization to address their career development needs.
|
With a founding student base of 19 students, FAME's administration was broken down into 9 committees: Executive, Marketing, Social Media, Design, Budget, Events, Internship, and Research and Development. Each committee was designated tasks to get FAME off the ground and running by Spring 2015. As part of its creation, FAME decided to provide one annual large arts event in order to provide opportunities for artists, managers, and the OSU community.

FAME's current initiatives focus on its future sustainability and viability as a professional organization.
FAME plans to expand its programming by facilitating career-development workshops, providing networking and organizational partnership opportunities, as well as be a resource for arts management internships. |
